HISTORY An increased demand for Navketan's Contract Manufacturing nurtured the thought for building a dedicated facility for external preparations. Considering this, Dr. Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad and Dr. Anjali Bhagwat Karad established Navketan Research & Laboratories Pvt Ltd in June 2001 Production commenced from March 2002. Navketan Research tied up with Wockhardt Limited for manufacturing their products utilizing 70% of the total capacity from first day of production. In a span of Five years, Navketan Research has obtained WHO GMP recognition, an ISO-9002 Certificate and Registration and Product Approvals in the international markets along the contract manufacturing for Wockhardt.
COMPANY DISCRIPTIONSituated in the MIDC Area of the historical city of Aurangabad, on an area of 4550 sq. meters, the factory building covers an area of around 2000 sq. meters. The company is provided with abundant electricity and water supply. The plant has different departments like ointment and liquid manufacturing area, ointment and liquid filling and packing areas with every section equipped with the latest equipments and Air Handling Units. All the Departments follow WHO GMP practices to the optimum levels. Recently, because of the increasing competition we have started utilizing the remaining 30% of the capacity for our own products and for other pharmaceutical companies on contract license basis. With an increasing competition and complexity in manufacturing formulations, Navketan has reached highest standards with respect to their manufacturing and formulation designing skills for external preparations attracting various markets at the domestic and international level for their present brands.
STAFFOne of the biggest assets of Navketan Research is a technically accoutered staff of around 30 professionals and 170 workers under one roof. To strengthen this asset further, we provide them with a state-of-art facilities and following good manufacturing practices at every level possible. We have a team of highly competent professionals sharing more than 53 years of combined experience altogether with a common goal of manufacturing, marketing, developing and improving the existing formulations with respects to their drug efficiency, patient compliance, stability and bioavailability.
FOCUSAt present, we manufacture an entire range of povidone iodine series including solutions, ointments and powders on contract license and principle-to-principle basis, which are marketed in different regions on the globe. We have registered over 7 formulations in the povidone iodine in more than 20 countries like Ghana, Sri Lanka and Tanzania. In the last year, the company has shown substantial growth in terms of sales in the domestic as well as the international market. Realizing the importance of some other markets and the urgency of medicines required in those areas on the globe, we are committed in increasing our product range by introducing Injectable along with the existing range of products in demanding markets like Philippines, Iraq, Panama, Ethiopia, Sudan and Kenya till December 2009. We are preparing to enter into North America & Europe by setting up a USFDA/ MHRA approved manufacturing facility in the very near future. Dr. Anjali Bhagwat Karad is a Gynecologist. She has completed her M.B.B.S from Government Medical College, Aurangabad and M.D in Obstetrics and Gynecology (O.B.G.Y) from Government Medical College, Aurangabad. She is a medical practitioner since past 25 years and runs a 50 bedded multi specialty hospital. She has been associated with Navketan Pharma since 1993. Her association with Navketan Pharma and now with Navketan Research has helped the Navketan Group to surge new heights. 
Mr. Harshvardhan Bhagwat Karad has completed his B. Pharm. from University Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai (formerly known as U.D.C.T) in 2007. At present, he is pursuing his Master in International Business (M.I.B) from University of Canberra, Australia.
